Suono
Cosa vuol dire suono, da dove viene questa parola e perché ne sono circondato costantemente. Energia che si propaga in onde, scatenata, o ancora, se è musica, liberata da vibrazioni o da pressioni.
Ma perché siamo così affascinati dai suoni e perché mi immobilizzano, mi allarmano, mi rilassano. Esistono in natura e l’uomo può piegarli a suo piacimento e può, consapevole del potere, scaturirmi una reazione.
Da dove viene l’ispirazione di creare con i suoni, come funziona la produzione, l’idea. E com’è bello, una scala di euforia alla quale è difficile dare una spiegazione. Quando si è colpiti da un suono, ci appare quasi materico, che sia tagliente sulla pelle o delicato come una carezza, è tangibile. Perché riesco a vedere il suono?
Questi incontri nascono dalle domande che mi pongo di notte, perché mi piace capire ciò che non capisco e saperlo da chi lo conosce meglio di me. Torno con più domande di prima, ed è la risposta alla curiosità.
Questa volta cerchiamo di capire la fisica del suono e quali sono le frontiere della sperimentazione musicale e per farlo, ci facciamo aiutare da ospitə specialə, studiosə, espertə, appassionatə.

Giovanni Costantini
Giovanni Costantini, ingegnerə del suono, compositorə di musica elettroacustica e espertə di psicoacustica, è il Direttorə del Master in "Sonic Arts" presso l'Università di Roma "Tor Vergata" dal 2011. Si laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica e prosegue con un dottorato di ricerca in Ingegneria delle Telecomunicazioni e Microelettronica. Nel frattempo, segue il percorso di pianoforte e musica elettronica al conservatorio.
Dal 1995 svolge ricerca sui sistemi per la sintesi ed elaborazione del suono, ed è titolarə di corsi universitari in Tecnologie del Suono, Elettrotecnica e Musica Elettronica. Ha insegnato in vari istituti, incluso il Conservatorio "S. Cecilia" e il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
È responsabilə del Laboratorio di Ricerca sul Suono (LARS) e ha coordinato progetti di ricerca, tra cui il progetto europeo "MUSICAL-MOODS". Ha pubblicato oltre 150 lavori scientifici su elaborazione del segnale audio, ed ha partecipatə a molti festival internazionali di musica sperimentale.
Francesco Ziello
Francesco Ziello è un musicistə di area sperimentale. La suə ricerca si focalizza sulle tecniche estese e l’elaborazione elettronica degli strumenti acustici, sui sistemi di amplificazione e sul rapporto tra suono e materia. Partecipə e cura importanti rassegne dedicate alle sperimentazioni sonore e compone musica per importanti realtà della danza contemporanea. Dal 2022 infatti, cura e dirige tecnicamente le rassegne di musica sperimentale “The Folderol Sessions” e “Stanze Sonore”. I suoi lavori artistici e didattici sono stati pubblicati da etichette e case editrici di rilevanza internazionale.
Si occupa di diversi progetti a fini didattici e divulgativi della musica di ricerca, nel 2024 pubblica il libro “Oscillazioni: la sperimentazione sonora come strumento didattico” per Edizioni Kappabit.

Ak2deru (nome d’arte di Francesco Careddu), artistə visivə e sonorə, ha studiato arte al Liceo Artistico di Tempio Pausania e successivamente composizione con Gian Paolo Chiti e Alvin Curran del quale è statə assistente dal 2008 al 2015. Nel 2007 fonda l'Associazione Culturale Dal Suono Sommerso, attiva dal 2007 al 2012 nel panorama della musica contemporanea. Vive e lavora a Roma. È statə invitatə a realizzare numerose mostre e istallazioni in prestigiosi musei e gallerie d'arte (Chateau de Montsoreau Musée d’art contemporain,Val de Loire - Museo MIF, Muravera - Museo d'arte contemporanea, Castello di Rivara - Prima Linea Studio, Roma - Spazio Y, Roma - Museo Carlo Bilotti, Roma - e numerosi altri), e sue composizioni sono state presentate in importanti festival e rassegne (1st Ave Brooklyn, New York - Sunfarm, Craryville - Auditorium Parco della Musica, Roma - E-Theatre Teatro Colosseo, Roma - Museum Center, Tempio Pausania - Edith Cove Fine Arts Center, Quincy - ecc

Sound
What does sound mean, where does this word come from and why am I constantly surrounded by it. Energy that propagates in waves, unleashed, or again, if it is music, released by vibrations or pressures.
But why are we so fascinated by sounds and why do they immobilize me, alarm me, relax me. They exist in nature and man can bend them at will and can, aware of the power, provoke a reaction in me.
Where does the inspiration to create with sounds come from, how does production work, the idea. And how beautiful it is, a scale of euphoria that is difficult to explain. When you are struck by a sound, it seems almost material, whether it is sharp on the skin or delicate as a caress, it is tangible. Why can I see the sound?
These meetings are born from the questions I ask myself at night, because I like to understand what I don't understand and to know it from those who know it better than me. I come back with more questions than before, and it is the answer to curiosity.
This time we try to understand the physics of sound and what are the frontiers of musical experimentation and to do so, we get help from special guests, scholars, experts, enthusiasts.

Giovanni Costantini
Giovanni Costantini, sound engineer, composer of electroacoustic music and expert in psychoacoustics, has been the Director of the Master in "Sonic Arts" at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" since 2011. He graduated in Electronic Engineering and continued with a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering and Microelectronics. In the meantime, he followed the piano and electronic music course at the conservatory.
Since 1995 he has been carrying out research on systems for the synthesis and processing of sound, and holds university courses in Sound Technologies, Electrical Engineering and Electronic Music. He has taught in various institutes, including the "S. Cecilia" Conservatory and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
He is the head of the Sound Research Laboratory (LARS) and has coordinated research projects, including the European project "MUSICAL-MOODS". He has published over 150 scientific works on audio signal processing, and has participated in many international experimental music festivals.

His research focuses on extended techniques and electronic processing of acoustic instruments, on amplification systems and on the relationship between sound and matter. He participates in and curates important events dedicated to sound experimentation and composes music for important contemporary dance realities. In fact, since 2022, he has curated and technically directed the experimental music events "The Folderol Sessions" and "Stanze Sonore". His artistic and educational works have been published by internationally renowned labels and publishing houses.
He is involved in various projects for educational and dissemination purposes of research music, in 2024 he published the book “Oscillazioni: la sperimentale sonora come supporto didattico” for Edizioni Kappabit.
